Borgos Pieper is an architecture and design studio directed by Etienne Borgos and Nadine Pieper with offices and associates in London and Barcelona. Our work pursues design excellence at every scale of the built environment; from urban to product design our philosophy incorporates sensitivity to context through a considered approach and careful detailing.

The pursuit of quality increasingly embraces the performance of buildings, how they adapt to change and how they may be regenerated with the desire to achieve responsible and timeless projects. The studio is currently developing work in the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East and the Americas.

We integrate the design of our projects from the inside to the outside. We have a responsibility to design for people; the end users of the buildings we create. As such, we start with the functional needs and purpose of the project and therefore see no separation from the inside to the outside expression of the building.

We take this level of detailed investigation and analysis to our approach to specialist design, as well as the integration of landscape, taking an active lead in the design direction adopted, whilst working closely with the finest specialist consultants in their respective fields, for local knowledge and expertise.

The Barcelona studio is fully integrated with the London team. It develops projects both in Spain and overseas. Located between Paseo de Gracia and Rambla Cataluña and designed by Borgos Pieper, it offers studio, meeting, exhibition, and conference spaces for the practice.

The London studio manages the practice’s design and administration functions and is supported by a team of specialists in IT, accounting, model making and visualization.

The team has experienced architects working in our London and Barcelona studios. It is international and multicultural and provides an important source of know-how and fresh ideas that support the design direction managed by the partners. We combine knowledge in design, technical problem solving, project management, BIM and physical modelling to devise wholly integrated design solutions.

This collaborative and open approach is a process we undertake with external consultants and stakeholders alike. Workshops are used to evaluate the progress and solutions adopted in the design as well as to share the creative work of the studio.

BP believes in the power of the collaborative process. It is essential for any successful project that the consultant team is assembled early in the conceptualization stage of any project.

This fundamental attitude to our practice of Architecture is equally applied to our communication with our clients; their goals and aspirations, as well as the economic drivers that lie behind their project.
